10 March 2023 – The Salty Hearts

10 March 2023 – The Salty Hearts

This Friday The Salty Hearts will entertain us with their quintessentially ‘Kiwi’ sounds with an Americana twist.

The band features Greg Sayer (Monty Wolf, Gas Guzzlers, The Daggs) who pens a vast selection of original songs that have his unique New Zealand experiences. Greg’s style is varied but some of the later songs are arriving at the band room sounding like a cross between Bob Dylan and Marlon Williams… very exciting! Dave Allen is on guitar (Hogsnort Bulldogs, Gravel Road, Four On The Floor), with sure, supportive and clever playing from Richard Guerin on Bass (Rhythm Plant, Groove Assembly), and Anje Glindemann on drums (Tin Pan Alley, Henpicked, Andrew London, Raven Mavens). They all sing lead and backing vocals, adding a hearty variety, texture and care to the music they create.

The Salty Hearts are regular performers around Wellington.

Doors open at 7:00 pm and the evening begins at 7:30 pm with a blackboard of performers. The guests perform after supper.

Admission, which includes a light supper, is $7 for members, $12 for non-members and $3 for students. Cash only (no eftpos facilities).

The venue is the Horowhenua Scottish Society Hall, 155 Bartholomew Road, corner Bartholomew Road and Middlesex Street, Levin.
