10 February 2023 – Andrew London Duo

10 February 2023 – Andrew London Duo

This month’s guests are Andrew and Kirsten London.

Andrew London is a musician based on the Kapiti Coast near Wellington, New Zealand. He is a songwriter and satirist and performs most often solo or duo (with Kirsten London on bass), or with the Andrew London Trio. His songs explore social and political themes and although humour and satire are very much to the fore, poignancy and pathos are often not far away. They play at festivals, functions, and venues all over New Zealand, but also make the occasional trip to Australia & Norfolk Island and have even played in Saudi Arabia.

They will play mostly original songs influenced by folk, blues, jazz and western swing genres. There will be a few from the recent stage musical ‘Let’s Talk About Me!’ which had its debut in Kapiti last September, and some from their latest album ‘Get Back To Work!’.

Doors open at 7:00 pm and the evening begins at 7:30 pm with a blackboard of performers. The guests perform after supper.

Admission, which includes a light supper, is $7 for members, $12 for non-members and $3 for students. Cash only (no eftpos facilities).

The venue is the Horowhenua Scottish Society Hall, 155 Bartholomew Road, corner Bartholomew Road and Middlesex Street, Levin.
